Biography
Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, born on May 18, 1945, in Tehran, Iran, is an Iranian conservative politician who served as Speaker of the Iranian Parliament from 2004 to 2008. He was the first non-cleric to hold this position since the 1979 revolution. He is the father-in-law of one of Supreme Leader Khamenei's sons. Haddad-Adel has been a close ally of the Supreme Leader and has held various political and cultural positions. He is also an academic and has written books on philosophy and literature.
