Biography
Haj Amin al-Husseini (1897-1974) was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and a key figure in Palestinian nationalism during the British Mandate period. He led the Palestinian revolt against British rule and Jewish immigration in the 1930s. A controversial figure, he later spent time in Nazi Germany during World War II. He remains a significant figure in the history of Palestinian nationalism.
