Biography
Dr. Kamal Hossain, born on April 20, 1937, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, is a prominent Bangladeshi lawyer, politician, and human rights advocate. He was one of the key framers of the Bangladesh Constitution and served as the country's first Foreign Minister. Dr. Kamal founded the Gono Forum political party and has been a vocal advocate for democracy, rule of law, and human rights in Bangladesh. He studied law at Oxford University and has practiced at the International Court of Justice. Throughout his career spanning over six decades, Dr. Kamal has represented Bangladesh in numerous international legal matters and has been a champion of constitutional governance and civil liberties. He received the prestigious CONESCO International Jurist Award.
