Biography
Rumi (1207-1273) was born in Balkh but spent most of his life in Konya, Turkey, making him central to Turkish cultural heritage. He is the world's best-selling poet in the US and his philosophy of universal love transcends all boundaries. The Mevlana Museum in Konya is one of Turkey's most visited sites.
